Black & White 28/04/2012

Good Evening All

Well following on from the lovely comment from Corrinne on my previous post, I headed over to Tuesday Alchemy to have a look around and decided that I would join in with their challenge this week, which is Black & White.

I’ve used a 5 x 7 inch card base, onto which I’ve placed a base mat of silver, just to lift the design slightly.  I then placed a layer of black and a layer of white embossed card.  The embossing was done with the M Bossability Elite design A.  I cheated with my framework and made this using strips of black card stuck onto the white, rather than cutting out 12 squares 😉

The flower is the Grand Peony die from Spellbinders with a rather lovely large black pearl brad which I got from The HobbyHouse.  I’ve then added some black peel off wording to a label and attached the polka dot bow.

The layout is from the current Mojo Monday challenge, which I shall also enter this card into.

Hope you like it

Back again soon

Spring Shopping 23/04/2012

Good Evening All

Very unusual for me to blog again so soon, but as I said, I had to make some cards last night, so I thought I would enter some challenges with this one.

I’ve used an A5 card base and matted and layered with some purple card and some gorgeous papers from Basic Grey – Euphoria paper pad.  The stamped image is from the Born to Shop range and was a freebie with one of my magazines.  I’ve coloured her in with Promarkers to tie in with the colours of the papers.

The sentiment is a stamp, which also came free 🙂  The flower is made from felt, I’ve put two together and then added a button and topped it off with a pearl.  Thankfully I had a little bit of purple ribbon in my stash which tied in nicely with the purple card.

I’m going to enter this into the following challenges:-

Basic Grey Challenge – Spring Colours

Cupcake Craft Challenges – Material Girl

The Pixie Cottage – Green and Gorgeous

Totally Papercrafts – All buttoned up

Fingers crossed for me

Back again soon

Good Afternoon All

Well I have another leaving card this week – one of the chaps that works for me has decided to retire and I am absolutely gutted 😦  Mind you, I don’t blame him!

So this is the card I made for him.  I’ve used a white A5 base card onto which I’ve then matted and layered some brown card and the Spice Cake papers from “Stampin Up” – really like these and have used them more than I thought I would.  The layout is from Mojo Monday – challenge 236 (unfortunately I was too late to enter it though!), but never mind!

The forever friends bear has been cut using a layered die and I’ve mounted him onto a nestability die cut circle and another nestie die, which as usual, I can’t remember the name of 😮  To finish it off I’ve then added some green rafia and a peel off sticker sentiment.

Anyway, that’s all for now, got some cards to make this afternoon, so I’ll be back again soon

A Leaving Card 15/04/2012

Filed under: Portobello Road — rachelscraftyfolder @ 9:58 pm

Good Evening All,

Well although this isn’t a card I made at our crop last week, it does use the red, white and blue theme that I had set, so that kinda follows on from last week!

One of the girls at work is leaving us soon 😦 and I needed to do a card for her for everyone to sign, so this is an A4 card.  I’ve used the Portobello Road papers from Papermania along with some plain red paper from my stash to give me my base.  The image is a Jolly Nation character – they seem to have one to suit every occasion – and she has been mounted on some layered nestability die cuts.  I’ve used a nice red ribbon across the centre and some card candy in the corners.  There is a sentiment in white letters, but it doesn’t seem to show up well in the photo for some reason?

Anyway, it’s getting late and I’m tired now, so I’m off to my bed, back again soon

Look what I got… 08/04/2012

Good Morning All

No cards from me today but look what I got for Easter from my niece.  It’s a hand crafted photoframe with lots of sparkle.

I thought it would be nice to put it up on my blog for everyone to see!  Her name is Sarah and she’s 8 years old and it would appear that she is becoming quite the crafter and this is her latest creation – isn’t it great.  Much better than a chocolate egg 🙂

Today is crop day, so hopefully I will have some cards made by the end of the day.  This month I have set a colour challenge of Red, White and Blue, for us to follow.

Anyway, need to go and get prepared but will be back again soon

Easter Madness 04/04/2012

Good Evening All,

It’s blooming cold here today, and we had snow this morning – quite ridiculous!  So I have tucked myself away in my craft room for most of the afternoon and made some items ready for Easter.  Even though I did our rota for Easter several weeks ago, it only actually occured to me on Monday that Easter means chocolate, and I hadn’t bought any!!  Normally I give Easter Eggs, of some description, to my team at work, so today I got cracking – excuse the pun 😉

The treat box card is courtesy of a workshop with Sonia.  I’ve used card and the Spice Cake papers from “Stampin Up” for the base card and followed the template that Sonia provided us with.  I used a spellbinder die to cut out the section in the front of the box and I’ve backed it with acetate so that the little eggs sit in there quite nicely and don’t fall out!  The flower has been punched out of the Spice Cake papers and the tag has been cut out using a sizzix die and I’ve just put a peel off sentiment on it.  Had to do 5 of these.

The little milk carton is perfect for Cadbury’s Creme Eggs, which is what’s inside and is a die from “Stampin Up”.  I’ve then just added a die cut bunny with his little gold egg onto a punched out label and stuck it to the side.  Had 16 of these to do 😐 but all done now and ready to take into work tomorrow morning.

Hopefully they’ll put a smile on everyone’s faces

Anyway that’s all for now, back again soon
