Good Morning All

I have been asked to make a card for a colleagues mum which has something to do with Tea – apparently she drinks loads of it, just like me!  So once I eventually got going yesterday, I managed to come up with this.

It’s an 8×8 card and I’ve used an old Friday Sketchers layout.  The papers are from the First Edition Boho Chic collection.  I’ve gone for a green and orange colour combination as the lady has an Irish heritage.  The image is from Docrafts and I stamped it first onto white card and coloured in the teddy and gave the teapot some shading with my promarkers.  I then paper pieced the design on the teapot using one of the papers and the background card.  I stamped the image again and cut out the teddy’s paws, so that they look like they come up and over the teapot.  A little bit of sparkly ribbon and some eyelets finish it off.

I’m going to enter it into the following challenges:-

Allsorts – paper piecing

Cupcake Craft Challenges – something in the eyelet

So, we’ll see how we do and I’ll be back again soon 🙂

New Home 17/06/2012

Good Afternoon All

Off to work in a little while, so will need to keep this brief!

I made this card yesterday for a friend of mine who has recently moved into a new place with her boyfriend.  I’ve used this weeks sketch from Mojo Monday for the card layout and the papers are all from a kit from Kanban from a few years back I think!  But the little birdies look real cute next to their cage, so thought it would work for a new home card.

I’ve matted each layer onto kraft card as the papers are mainly pinks and browns and it seems that this colour combination works well.  The photo doesn’t seem to have come out great though, obviously something I still need to work on!

Anyway best go get myself organised, will be back again soon 🙂

Fathers Day 13/06/2012

Good Evening All,

Guess what I got the other day – the new Art Deco cricut cartridge, it’s fab 😀

We didn’t have a crop this week for one reason and another, so I spent most of Sunday playing around with the cartridge and seeing what I could do and these are the results.  All of which I decided to make into Father’s Day cards seeing as it’s only a few days away and the images are quite appropriate.

Still need to do a card for my own Dad though, I didn’t get that far!

Anyway, short and sweet as I’m off to Sonia’s for a class this evening, but thought I’d share this piccie before I go.

Back again soon

50 books… 10/06/2012

Good Morning All

And it’s a dry morning for a change!  There is even a bit of sun today 🙂

This is a card I was asked to make for a colleague of mine, for his wife’s 50th birthday.  He gave me the subject of books as she is an avid reader and told me her favourite colour was blue.  Well, I hunted through my stash but couldn’t really find anything appropriate, so I hit the web and ordered some Magnolia stamps from Sir Stampalot.  Have to say I was very impressed with their service, I received the order extremely quickly 😀

The base card is an 8×8 inch fold back, covered with blue card and some blue flowery paper from the Spice Cake range from Stampin Up.  The central image has been stamped and coloured in with Promarkers and then cut out so that I could sit Tilda on the large pile of books.  The text paper is from Basic Gray and the scalloped circle has been cut using a Marianne die.  The Happy Birthday was done on my trusty Cricut and the bow is made from some lovely lacey ribbon also from Stampin Up.

The pile of books on the right hand side of the card is one stamp, stamped several times and I counted out 50 books to correspond with her age.  These have also been coloured using Promarkers and then cut out.

I managed to find a lovely little poem about books on the web, (a very useful tool) which I printed out and used on the inside.

Anyway that’s all for now, but will be back again soon
