Yesterday was our monthly crop day and this time round I had set the challenge whereby you had to use peel offs for your cards. I think it gave each of us something to think about. It’s silly really as most of our earlier cards, when we were learning how to craft were done using peel offs, but now we’ve grown a bit with our skills, we actually found it quite testing 😐
The first one I did was the fishing scene, its basically a black peel off placed (with great difficulty!) onto white card and then I’ve coloured the background with my promarkers. The second one I did (although I never actually got round to mounting it onto a card) was the silhouette trees. The peel off has been placed onto a double sided adhesive sheet and then I’ve used my gilding flakes to create the background. Both of these ideas were learnt from Dawn Bibby a few years ago, when we attended one of her residential weekends.
The other two cards are very simple ones, I’ve matted and layered some mirri card with some white card which has been embossed and placed the butterfly peel offs on top. Sometimes simple is best 🙂
I have to say, we had a great day and each of us managed at least three cards – which is quite good going for us lot, taking into account the nattering and the tea drinking!
Anyway, I shall be back again soon
