Good Afternoon All

Well I wish I was 18 again 🙂

Anyway, my card this afternoon is based on this weeks Mojo Monday sketch, which worked really well with the brief I had been given for this card.  I’ve used an A5 card base, onto which I have matted and layered some black and pink card.  The half circles have been cut using my Grand Decorative Circle nestabilities.  The image has been stamped in black Stazon and coloured in with my Whispers markers – the stamp being a freebie from the Docrafts Creativity magazine.  I used one of the smaller stamps to stamp on the darker pink strip, again with black Stazon.  The sentiment has been printed and then with another set of spellbinder dies, I’ve cut the label out.  The bow has been made with black seam binding and I’ve actually cut the legs off the back of a brad and then stuck this over the top with Pinflair Glue Gel.  Around the white circle, there are some sparkly gems, but I’m not sure they show up well in this picture?

Apart from Mojo Monday, I would like to enter this into the following challenges:-

Crafting When We Can – 1st Birthdays and Moving Along with the Times – Girly

Well, thanks for dropping by and hopefully I’ll be back again soon

crop day challenge 9 18/09/2012

Filed under: Crop Days — rachelscraftyfolder @ 10:33 pm

Good Evening All

I know it’s late, so this will probably be brief!

Sunday was our Crop Day for this month and this time Sonia set the challenge, whereby we each had to come with a box containing everything required to make a card of our choice.  Each box then got passed around the table, so that by the end of the day we had all had a go at making each others card – if that makes sense 😉

So, this is a picture of the card I came up with.  I wanted to do this as the background has been created with the help of a “Splodge Mat” and I wanted everyone else to have a go at using it, so that they could see what it was like.  Having watched Barbara Gray several times, I decided to get one and she’s quite right, it makes a hell of a difference.  I’ve used Mountain Rose Adirondack ink to brayer the background onto some plain white card and then I’ve stamped with Black Stazon the two Personal Impressions stamps designed by Lindsay Mason.  I’ve then matted onto some plain black card and placed this onto a A6 white card and added a few black gems.  So a very simple card, but a good opportunity to play with my new “Splodge Mat”!

Anyway, that’s all for now, must get myself off to bed.

Back again soon

Favour Boxes 14/09/2012

Good Evening All

Well as promised, here are a couple of photos of the 250 favour boxes that I have made for my friends wedding tomorrow!

I’ve used a pillow box die from Stampin Up, some silver pearlescant card from Kanban and a maroon ribbon which I purchased from Mei Flower (who were extremely helpful, by the way).

The boxes have been filled with Dolly Mixtures, as requested by the bride.

I must thank my Mum, who helped me finish these off this week.  I don’t think either of us will be making any more for a wee while 😉

Well they are all boxed up now and ready to be taken to the hotel tomorrow afternoon and placed on the tables along with some confetti.

It’s going to be a long day, so I think I’m going to head off to bed now, but I’ll be back again soon with a card or two.

Wedding day 09/09/2012

Good Morning All

What a glorious Sunday morning – had my breakfast sitting on the patio, basking in the sun.  Don’t happen often, so best make the most of it, eh!

Next week I have a friends wedding to go to, so thought I’d best get round to making a card for them, and here it is.  I have taken the design and toppers from the “Making Cards for Special Occasions” magazine from a wee while back.  I’ve used an A4 piece of silver pearlescant card for the base and then basically followed the instructions in the magazine, but have adapted it slightly to make use of items I have in my stash.

The lace work has been done using a Hot of the Press template and was somewhat easier than I thought it was going to be 🙂

I have also been asked to provide 250 favour boxes for them in silver with maroon ribbon, which are being made with the same silver pearlescant card, so it will all tie up together for them.  I’ll pop a photo of the finished favour boxes on my blog later this week, once I have completed them (I’ve taken the week off work to make sure!)

Anyway that’s all for now coz I need to get ready for work, but I’ll be back again soon

bags of fun 04/09/2012

A very simple card today, made using a BCE template which I purchased at the Great British Craft Festival a few weeks back.

I’ve used an A5 pre scored card for the base and then used the template to cut out the shape. I’ve then used some very posh papers from Stampin Up to cover the card.  Some brown pearlescant card makes up the flap of the bag along with some gold peel off borders to give it that stitched look.

I’ve hung various ribbons around the handle and a tag, which has been cut using a spellbinder die.  The flower is a metal embellishment with a punched paper flower on top and a card candy centre.

Like I said, quite simple and quick as I need it for a birthday on Thursday!!!!

Anyway best go, things to do, cards to make 🙂

Back again soon
