Bundle of JoyGood Afternoon All

Another simple card for you today following the current Mojo Monday sketch.  It would appear that I have a thing about using my embossing folders at the mo.  The two small ones on this card, haven’t been used before, kinda forgot I’d got them!  The result of having too much stuff in your craft room 😉

Anyhow, I’ve used an A5 white card and layered it up with some linen textured baby pink card and the embossed linen white card.  Then sticking rigidly to the layout in the challenge, I’ve embossed the two smaller images and layered them onto some more of the pink card.  The flower has been made using two punches, the leaves are die cut and then I’ve added some baby pink pearls from my stash.

On a completely different note, my parents have been married 50 years today, and I’d like to congratulate them on such an achievement.  I have made them a card, but I can’t show it yet, as it’s still sitting on my kitchen table.  The weather has put a bit of a kybosh on things this week, so celebrations will have to wait!

Well must go, got another card order to work on tonight and I’ve got a few other things to do before then.

Back again soon

snowed in 19/01/2013

January pageGood Morning All

Well, like a lot of people I got snowed in yesterday and couldn’t go to work, so I made the most of the extra day at home and got down to some crafting 🙂

I have decided, in my infinite wisdom, to make a desk calendar for myself.  I know it’s a bit late, seeing as we’re half way through the first month already, but we didn’t get any freebies at work this year and I’m lost without a calendar on my desk!  So why not make my own?

I think I’m going to run with a fairly neutral colour scheme throughout and have chosen a Papermania paper pack (I can’t remember the name of it – sorry!) in varying shades and patterns of brown for my base layer.  I then thought that I could just add a splash of colour either with the image or the lettering.  So with January, my Tilda image has been coloured in shades of blue using my Promarkers.  The lettering has come from some packs I have had for absolutely ages and I’ve coloured them with a bronze marker and then everything has been distress inked with Brushed Corduroy.

So, now all I need to do is the other 11 pages – a little challenge for myself me thinks!  Speaking of challenges, I’m going to put this forward for the ABC Challenge – favourite Tilda stamp, the stamp I’ve used was the first one I ever bought and I still think she’s real cute, and the Crafty Calendar Challenge – what’s new, this is the start of a new calendar and a new challenge!  A little bit tenuous 🙂

Anyway, I need to start making a move, I’ve got to at least try to get to work today, but I’ll be back again soon

sweet dreams 16/01/2013

Sweet DreamsGood Evening All

Tonight’s card was a quick and easy one, using Hunkydory products and the current Mojo Monday layout.  I’ve used an A5 white card base, onto which I have matted and layered some gold mirri card and three co-ordinating blue bits of card.  The image and its layers have been cut using my trusty nesties, and then raised up on foam pads.  I made a chocolate box bow (or at least that’s what I call it?) with the white ribbon just to finish it off.  Simples 🙂

It’s a possible option for a little boys 1st birthday.  I tend to make three cards for people to choose from, when I’m asked to make cards – don’t ask me why!  So I’ve had a crafty day today and stayed indoors where it’s warm and cosy.  Can you blame me when it’s -2/3oc outside?

Anyhow, that’s all for now, but I’ll be back again soon

back to normal… 08/01/2013

Lime Green and White CardGood Morning All

Well it doesn’t take long for things to get back to normal does it?  Back to getting up early.  Back at work now, albeit on reduced hours for a little while until I feel fully fit!  Back to the daily chores 😦

But also back to crafting on a regular basis 🙂  And this is the card I produced last night.

I’ve used the current Mojo Monday challenge layout and made a 5×7 lime green card onto which I have matted and layered some gold mirri card and then some pearlescant white paper, which has been embossed using three different embossing folders.  The dotty one at the back is a Darice folder and the other two are an M-Bossibility folder.  The ribbon is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  A very quick and easy card to get me back into the swing of things!

A short blog, but I do have to go to work now, but I’ll be back again soon

Happy New Year 01/01/2013

Happy New YearHappy New Year everyone 🙂

Well today is the 1st Anniversary of my blog and I’m chuffed to bits to have reached my first milestone – even if my photography skills don’t seem to have improved much over the last year!

A great opportunity to say “Thank You” to those of you that check in with me and see what I’ve been up to and also to those who set the challenges for us to enter throughout the year.

Anyway, having packed away the Christmas tree and decorations for another year (I know I do it earlier than you should), I managed to create this card this afternoon, taking inspiration from the current Mojo Monday layout and the ABC Challenge of Embossing.

The base card is 6×6, onto which I have matted some kraft card and some white card, which has been embossed using the garden lattice m-bossibility folder.  I’ve then matted and layered some more card to create the smaller square and this has been stamped around the edges with some faux stitching stamps, which I think were from Papermania.  The letters have been cut out using First Steps sizzlets and the bear is a Forever Friends layered die.

This card will be winging its way over to America within the next day or two, as unfortunately I didn’t have an address for a friend of mine who lives there and have had to wait for her Christmas card to arrive with her new address.  So I’m hoping this will make up for the lack of a Christmas card and her Birthday card 😛

Well that’s all for now, the animals need their tea, as do I, but I’ll be back again soon
