Another male card this evening, once again using the current Mojo Monday layout, which can be done either on a circle or a square.  I thought we’d have a change and go circle this time round.

So using my large circular nesties, I’ve cut the card base and layered this up with black and then the musical score card and some red card.

The central square has been cut and inked with fired brick distress ink and then layered onto black and silver card.  The images are all peel offs, which I’ve had for ages.

The guitar has been cut using my Cricut and the Indie Art cartridge, which I’ve then mounted onto foam squares to raise it off the card slightly.

The lightning strikes are also peel offs from the same sheet as the skull and cross bones.

I need this for my best friend’s sons birthday on Sunday and he’s well into his music, so should be appropriate for him 🙂

Anyway, that’s all for now, but I’ll be back again soon

elementaryGood Evening All

A male orientated card to share this evening.  I need a card for my Dad’s birthday next week and I’d bought these Sherlock Holmes stamps by Sam Poole, some time ago, so I’ve combined them with the current Mojo Monday challenge and have produced this easel card.

I’ve used an A4 piece of grey card to make the basic card and added some black card to mat and layer and some patterned paper out of my stash.  I’ve stamped the fingerprints in Versamark and then embossed them using silver pearl powder, which looks a bit like the grey powder they use on CSI and the such like 😀

The main image has just been stamped with Stazon onto white card and cut out, but the magnifying glass has had Glossy Accents added to make it shiny.  To finish off the top section of the card, I’ve just added 3 brads from my stash which toned in.

The sentiment stopper has been stamped and embossed with clear powder, cut out with one of my nesties and then inked slightly with Black Soot distress ink.  All in all, an appropriate card for my Dad 🙂

Apart from Mojo Monday, I’d also like to enter this into the current Cards for Men challenge, which is Fancy Folds.

Well that’s all for now, but I’ll be back again soon

cup cakeGood Morning All

Can’t stop long as I’ve got to go to work in a wee while 😦 but today’s card has been made using the current Mojo Monday challenge layout.

I’ve used some lovely brown card with a gold shimmer in it, but this doesn’t really show up on the photo, as my base A5 card and for my borders.

The papers are from a Papermania collection they did last year, I think, or maybe it was the year before!  The cup cake topper was one that I got absolutely ages ago from Dawn Bibby, which was already glittered up.

I’ve used a small tag die to cut the tags down the side and then I’ve added some brown eyelets to them and I’ve used the larger die then for the sentiment and I’ve just done a little ribbon bow to finish it off.

Gotta go but will be back again soon 🙂

Have a Happy Day

Rachel

sparkly sister 11/05/2013

Sparkly SisterGood Evening All,

Sorry for the lack of blogging, but seem to have had a bit of social life lately!  Very bizarre.

Anyhow, tonight’s card has been made using the current Mojo Monday Challenge layout and some inspiration from the ABC Challenge – Make it Sparkle and the fact that one of my colleagues needs a birthday card for her sister 🙂

I have used an A5 white card base which has been layered up with some silver mirri card and then some black and silver card and white and silver card from Hunkydory, (if my memory serves me well).  I’ve also used some black mirri to layer the circle sentiment on and to make the tab.

It doesn’t show up very well in the photo, but I stamped my sentiments onto white card and then covered them with micro beads, using double sided adhesive sheets and then to add even more sparkle I’ve placed a black dazzler on the “sister” sentiment.  I don’t think it needs anything else!

Well I shall no doubt be back again soon, thanks for dropping by
