Autumn LeavesGood Evening All

At the beginning of the month, the usual suspects had a crop but muggings ‘ere really wasn’t on form that day and didn’t even manage to make one card 😦

However, I did try one of Sue Wilson’s techniques called “Caught in Crystal” and produced an A5 piece of background coloured acetate using alcohol inks, tissue paper and cosmic shimmer powders.

Well last night, I finally did something with it and produced this card, having watched Sue Wilson’s DVD again!

It’s an A5 card layered up with black and red card.  I’ve used various Spellbinder dies to create the foliage and the frame.  The “caught in crystal” acetate is the bit that has been stamped on and the white faux stitching has been added with a gelly roll pen.

I’m now going to try and do another small card with the rest of the acetate and then I’ll see what else I’ve started and not finished 😀

Back again soon

Concertina Card 21/10/2013

Concertina CardGood Evening All

Well I’m back, had a great holiday 🙂 but OMG, back to reality now with an almighty bump 😦 so I really haven’t managed to do very much on the crafty front.

However, I went to one of my friend Sonia‘s workshops where she showed us how to create a concertina card for Christmas.  I tried it again at home and adapted it slightly so that I could come up with a wedding card, and this is the outcome.

Basically I kept it very simple using cream card and a coppery coloured card. I’ve used love heart dies from Stampin’ Up, as well as the Celtic knot and the Cherry Blossom dies from Spellbinders.  The letters were cut out on my Cricut using the Art Nouveau cartridge and each blossom has a tiny little gem in the centre, and that’s about it.

I’m struggling a little to get some quality crafting time at the moment, but I shall make every effort to get back on track and will hopefully be back again soon 🙂
