Sorry!Good Evening All

I know I’ve been quiet for a week or so, but I’ve had a new addition to the family who has been keeping me rather occupied!  Her name is Skye and she is a 9 week old Rottie and is a right little handful!  Unfortunately she doesn’t like being on her own and literally screams the place down 😦  Skye

Thankfully I had warned my neighbour that this might be the case, but I thought it would be nice to do her a card to apologise for any disturbance.  So, using this weeks Mojo Monday layout, I set about making this one.

It’s not quite the “tall and skinny” card I had planned as I managed to cut the paw print a little too big, (haven’t quite got the hang of my new Brother Scan “N” Cut yet!) but it’s close enough 🙂

The papers are some new ones from “Stampin Up” called Retro Fresh, which went quite nicely with the brown of the paw print.

Well, it looks like playtime is over and we might be settling down for the night, so I shall go and get some sleep whilst I can, but I’ll be back again soon

New HomeGood Evening All

Well, this weeks Mojo Monday challenge seemed to lend itself extremely well to a new home card, which I needed to do for a friend this week.

The card is A5 in size and I’ve used Graphic 45 design papers for the background and to cover the house shape – which is the cottage chipboard shape from Stamps Away.  I’ve done some inking around the edges of both, with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I could have made the cottage more 3D, as the elements are in the pack to do this, but as I am posting the card, I decided to keep it relatively flat.

The heart shape is a Tim Holtz die and then I’ve used some little key shaped embellishments to finish off.

I hope my friend likes it and settles nicely into her new home 🙂

Anyway, that’s all for now, but I’ll be back again soon

Elegant Lady 09/02/2014

Elegant LadyGood Evening All

I’m definitely not talking about me – I have been struck down with a nasty cold this last week and I can assure you, it was anything but elegant 😦

Seem to be on the mend now though, and today was our regular crop day.  This year I am providing everyone with a sketch to follow each month, to try and help us focus a little, and actually make some cards!  (we’re not always successful at this, between the tea, cakes, biscuits, bacon butties, etc)

So, I’ve been checking out various websites that offer up sketches for cards and this week we used this one from Sketch Saturday.  Its a few weeks old now, so we’ll not be entering the competition, just doing it for fun 😀

As you can see, I twisted the design around as I needed the length for my elegant lady – which, by the way, is a silhouette die cut from DieCutGenie.

I also told everyone that there had to be the colour red somewhere on the card, so I’ve used some Stampin Up design papers and Cherry Cobbler cardstock with a cream A5 card.

I think I might add a few gems to bling it up a bit before I use it for my friends birthday later this month.

Anyhow, it was a jolly good day, so we’ll have to see what wicked sketch I can find for next time 🙂

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back again soon
