exploding boxGood Afternoon all

Just a quickie, but, as promised, here is what we made at the workshop yesterday with Hels Sheridan.

Had a lovely day, it was actually quite a chilled workshop, nice and relaxing 🙂

So, thank you to Wendy, for all the cups of tea and Hels for the inspiration

Beautiful Mind

Good Evening All – something very different from me this week 🙂

I decided to have a go at a canvas – eek!  I’m going to be attending a Hels Sheridan workshop at Daisy’s on Sunday, so thought it would be a good idea if I played around a little beforehand, and I have literally had everything out in my workshop 🙂

I’ve used the current Mojo Monday Sketch challenge as the basis to work from and I wanted to use the “Beautiful Mind” stamp set from Indigoblu, as the saying about talking to yourself is sooooo appropriate for me 😀

So, I covered the whole of the base canvas with Scattered Straw distress ink, then put a clock and cogs mask over the top and inked through with Wild Honey.  I’ve then stamped a crackle effect using Rusty Hinge and spritzed with copper Cosmic Shimmer mist.

The design papers are all from the Basic Grey Manila paper pad and I’ve inked them up to match the base canvas.  On two, I stamped and embossed the images with Coffee Bean Brilliance ink and clear embossing powder and on the other two I used my flitter glue and flakes.

The leaves are the Petite Vinery Dies by Sue Wilson, the glass vials have been filled with some sand (of which I have loads at the moment, where I’ve been working in my garden), the hand has been stamped onto shrink plastic and then I added the couple of brass trinkets for good measure!

I think it’s OK?  It’s been quite fun actually, getting everything out, having a play and getting mucky 🙂

Anyway, I shall post my workshop make after Sunday so you can see how I got on, but in the meantime thanks for dropping by

Classy KitschGood Afternoon All

I’m quite impressed with myself – incredibly I have managed to make this card and blog about it within 24 hours 🙂  that’s not something that happens often!

I have taken inspiration from two challenges this week – Mojo Monday and ABC – and the fact that I need a girlie birthday card for one of my colleagues.

I have used an A5 card blank, layered up with some pale blue card from my stash and design papers from Craftwork Cards Kitsch collection.  The dress and flower were also in the paper pad but I’ve added some die cut leaves and a rhinestone decal.

The sentiment is a stamp from an old Kanban set which I stamped with versamark and heat embossed using a blue coloured embossing powder from WOW, which matched up lovely.

It all came together just right yesterday evening 🙂

You never know I might even manage to get another one made this evening – although that might be expecting too much – we’ll see!

Best go, I’ve got hungry animals staring at me.

Hopefully back again soon

a simple thank you 02/08/2014

Thank YouGood Afternoon All

Gotta go to work in a wee while, so this will probably be a bit of a quickie.

I’ve followed the current Mojo Monday challenge as usual, it’s tall and skinny this week, so a standard DL card base.

I started with the sentiment, which is a topper from the Tatty Ted kit that I spoke about last week – trying to use up various bits and pieces that get put into a pot for later 🙂

Bet we’ve all got them!

So I decided to go with just white and silver.  The background has been embossed with an Argyle pattern, which I think is a Darice Embossing Folder, the swirl is one of the new Sue Wilson dies and the flower has been made with a white patterned vellum using a punch and I’ve just shaped the petals slightly and added a card candi to the centre.

Clean and simple 🙂

Anyway, must dash, but I’ll be back again soon
