Beautiful Mind

Good Evening All – something very different from me this week 🙂

I decided to have a go at a canvas – eek!  I’m going to be attending a Hels Sheridan workshop at Daisy’s on Sunday, so thought it would be a good idea if I played around a little beforehand, and I have literally had everything out in my workshop 🙂

I’ve used the current Mojo Monday Sketch challenge as the basis to work from and I wanted to use the “Beautiful Mind” stamp set from Indigoblu, as the saying about talking to yourself is sooooo appropriate for me 😀

So, I covered the whole of the base canvas with Scattered Straw distress ink, then put a clock and cogs mask over the top and inked through with Wild Honey.  I’ve then stamped a crackle effect using Rusty Hinge and spritzed with copper Cosmic Shimmer mist.

The design papers are all from the Basic Grey Manila paper pad and I’ve inked them up to match the base canvas.  On two, I stamped and embossed the images with Coffee Bean Brilliance ink and clear embossing powder and on the other two I used my flitter glue and flakes.

The leaves are the Petite Vinery Dies by Sue Wilson, the glass vials have been filled with some sand (of which I have loads at the moment, where I’ve been working in my garden), the hand has been stamped onto shrink plastic and then I added the couple of brass trinkets for good measure!

I think it’s OK?  It’s been quite fun actually, getting everything out, having a play and getting mucky 🙂

Anyway, I shall post my workshop make after Sunday so you can see how I got on, but in the meantime thanks for dropping by

Roar..Good Evening All

Sincere apologies for my absence, been doing 12 hour days at work over the last month whilst we had some refurbishment works going on, so no time for anything else other than eating and sleeping 😦

Back to normal now, I hope, so decided it was time for a crop with the usual gang.  I set a colour challenge of Brown, Blue and Orange (these are the new colours following the refurb at work) – what was I thinking?

So, last night I pulled all my stash out trying to work out what to do today and eventually plumped for dinosaurs – as you do!

Inspired by some Basic Grey papers, which thankfully included all three colours, I then selected a “stampin up” stamp set which gave me the dinosaur – a Tyrannosaurus Rex, I believe, and the sentiment.  Some burnt orange card to layer up, my promarkers to colour the image, a bone from a Jolly Nation decoupage sheet and an old Mojo Monday challenge layout and hey presto, the finished article 🙂

Not too bad going, bearing in mind, I really haven’t done anything for sooooooooo long.

In fact, everyone got stuck in today and produced some really lovely cards – so a good day all in all.

The challenge has been set for next time – Autumn Leaves – so roll on October 🙂

Should be back again sooner than that though all being well

Good Evening All

Very unusual for me to blog again so soon, but as I said, I had to make some cards last night, so I thought I would enter some challenges with this one.

I’ve used an A5 card base and matted and layered with some purple card and some gorgeous papers from Basic Grey – Euphoria paper pad.  The stamped image is from the Born to Shop range and was a freebie with one of my magazines.  I’ve coloured her in with Promarkers to tie in with the colours of the papers.

The sentiment is a stamp, which also came free 🙂  The flower is made from felt, I’ve put two together and then added a button and topped it off with a pearl.  Thankfully I had a little bit of purple ribbon in my stash which tied in nicely with the purple card.

I’m going to enter this into the following challenges:-

Basic Grey Challenge – Spring Colours

Cupcake Craft Challenges – Material Girl

The Pixie Cottage – Green and Gorgeous

Totally Papercrafts – All buttoned up

Fingers crossed for me

Back again soon
