Beautiful Mind

Good Evening All – something very different from me this week 🙂

I decided to have a go at a canvas – eek!  I’m going to be attending a Hels Sheridan workshop at Daisy’s on Sunday, so thought it would be a good idea if I played around a little beforehand, and I have literally had everything out in my workshop 🙂

I’ve used the current Mojo Monday Sketch challenge as the basis to work from and I wanted to use the “Beautiful Mind” stamp set from Indigoblu, as the saying about talking to yourself is sooooo appropriate for me 😀

So, I covered the whole of the base canvas with Scattered Straw distress ink, then put a clock and cogs mask over the top and inked through with Wild Honey.  I’ve then stamped a crackle effect using Rusty Hinge and spritzed with copper Cosmic Shimmer mist.

The design papers are all from the Basic Grey Manila paper pad and I’ve inked them up to match the base canvas.  On two, I stamped and embossed the images with Coffee Bean Brilliance ink and clear embossing powder and on the other two I used my flitter glue and flakes.

The leaves are the Petite Vinery Dies by Sue Wilson, the glass vials have been filled with some sand (of which I have loads at the moment, where I’ve been working in my garden), the hand has been stamped onto shrink plastic and then I added the couple of brass trinkets for good measure!

I think it’s OK?  It’s been quite fun actually, getting everything out, having a play and getting mucky 🙂

Anyway, I shall post my workshop make after Sunday so you can see how I got on, but in the meantime thanks for dropping by

Good Evening All

Well as usual I’m dashing about again, so apologies but this will be brief.

The card and design papers are all from “Stampin Up” and I’ve used this week’s Mojo Monday Challenge for the layout.

The image is a stamp from a set from Creative Expressions and I’ve embossed it and then coloured in with Spectrum Noirs.

A couple of hat pins have been added along with the bow and the pearls, coz I thought it looked a bit plain!

Anyway I’m afraid I’ve gotta go, but I shall try to be back again soon 🙂

Good Morning All

Well my Dad is 75 years old today and this is the card that I have made for him.  I’ve taken the design from a card Sue Wilson had on display at Ally Pally last year as it is quite appropriate for my Dad, he likes trains! 😀

I’ve used an 8×8 card blank, otherwise I wouldn’t have fitted it all on!  All of the stamped elements are from the Creative Expressions Vintage plates, and then everything else is Tim Holtz products, the papers, inks and the dies.  Absolutely love Tim Holtz!

The cog wheels have been die cut and then embossed with the distress embossing ink and powders, which gives them a very real rough feel and uneven coverage, which is really quite authentic.

I’m going to enter this into the following challenges:-

Allsorts – Happy Birthday to someone Special

Charisma Cardz – No Flowers Allowed

Crafty Catz – Card for a Man

Creative Card Crew – Dimension

Here Come the Boys – Anything Goes

One Stop Craft Challenge – One for the Boys

Anyway, we’re off to Coombe Abbey later for a posh Afternoon Tea to celebrate Dad’s milestone, and if the weather stays like it is, it will be super duper 🙂

Will be back again soon
