Anniversary Heart closed   side on open

Good Morning All

Yesterday was my parent’s wedding anniversary and this is the card I made for them 🙂

It’s an easel card, as you can see, and is A5 in size.  The design paper is one from the Portobello Road collection, the heart dies are the ones from the Tonic Affections Die Set (which my Mum bought me for Christmas), the word dies are Britannia ones and the bow has been cut using the Die-Namics beautiful bows die.  The little cream roses are from Hobby House and there are also a few sticky gems, but they don’t show up very well in the photo’s!

Anyway, can’t stop, but will be back again soon

it's party timeGood Evening All

This week I have been asked to produce some cards for a lady who turns 90 in July, and this is one of them.  I thought I’d throw a funny one into the mix, just for the hell of it 😀 I like to offer a variety!

So, I’ve used an 8×8 base card, the current Mojo Monday layout and the design papers are all Portobello Road.  The image and sentiment are from the “Wrinklies” stamp set by Dimensions Fourth and I’ve coloured the partying wrinkly in with my Promarkers to match up with the design papers.

Anyway, short and sweet tonight, really must do my ironing, need my uniform for tomorrow! But I shall endeavour to be back again soon

The Great British Weather… 04/05/2012

Filed under: Challenges,Dimensions Fourth Stamps,Portobello Road — rachelscraftyfolder @ 11:15 am

Good Morning All

This is probably a little bit of a cheeky card, but when I read the challenge over at CupCake Craft Challenges, the Great British weather is what sprung to my mind! 😀

So I dug out my Dimensions Fourth Wrinklies Beach Party stamps and set about making this card.

I’ve layered up the background paper, which is from the Portobello Road collection, onto some red card from my stash.  The images have been coloured using my Promarkers, as has the background on which they sit.  I stuck with using red, white and blue to keep in with the british theme.  The sentiment is also from the Wrinklies stamp set and the buttons are from the Portobello Road collection.

I was going to send it to my brother, for his birthday on Monday, but I didn’t complete it quick enough to get it in the post, so I’ve had to send him a different card!

Bit short and sweet today, but I’m off to see “The King and I” musical with some friends this afternoon, so best go and get ready!

Have a great weekend

Back again soon

A Leaving Card 15/04/2012

Filed under: Portobello Road — rachelscraftyfolder @ 9:58 pm

Good Evening All,

Well although this isn’t a card I made at our crop last week, it does use the red, white and blue theme that I had set, so that kinda follows on from last week!

One of the girls at work is leaving us soon 😦 and I needed to do a card for her for everyone to sign, so this is an A4 card.  I’ve used the Portobello Road papers from Papermania along with some plain red paper from my stash to give me my base.  The image is a Jolly Nation character – they seem to have one to suit every occasion – and she has been mounted on some layered nestability die cuts.  I’ve used a nice red ribbon across the centre and some card candy in the corners.  There is a sentiment in white letters, but it doesn’t seem to show up well in the photo for some reason?

Anyway, it’s getting late and I’m tired now, so I’m off to my bed, back again soon

It snowed… 05/02/2012

Filed under: Portobello Road — rachelscraftyfolder @ 10:32 am

Good Morning All,

Apologies for not having blogged for a week, just not had the opportunity what with work and all!

Have now managed to catch up with myself and had the chance to make some cards.  As you can see from the photo, it snowed here yesterday.  This is what my back garden looked like at 8am this morning – don’t think the cat was too impressed, but the dog thought it was brilliant and had great fun 🙂

Anyway, snow tends to make me stay indoors, so a great excuse for crafting!

Last week I bought some of the Portobello Road collection – the paper pack, the ribbons, the buttons and one of the stamp sets, and yesterday I decided that I would have a play with that, and these are the cards I came up with.  The one on the left is an easel card with a Magnolia stamped image coloured in with Promarkers.  The next one along is a rucksack shaped card, then the Mini is a Kanban stamped image, again coloured in with Promarkers and I’ve tried to make this look like the Mini has driven through the flag and is therefore coming out of the card – think it works!  For the last one I followed a sketch for the layout and used the “Keep Calm and” stamps from Personal Impressions, which I think compliment the Portobello Road collection really well.

So, despite the weather, I enjoyed myself, and it looks like I can have another crafty day today 😀

Back again soon
