Old Door CharmGood Morning All

This week I’ve taken my inspiration from the Fusion Card Challenge which is “old door charm”.

All the design papers and cardstock are from my stash, but are all Stampin Up items.  The newsprint paper has been overstamped with a flourish stamp from Hot of the Press and inked around the edges to age it slightly.

The central stamp is by Visible Image, which I bought at the recent Great British Craft Festival and then there is another stamped sentiment at the bottom, but it’s quite faint.  This one is from Hot off the Press and is one of the first set of stamps I ever had 🙂

The key charm ties it in to the old door theme and I added the flower coz I felt it needed something else!

Anyhow, that’s all for now, but tomorrow is crop day and our challenge this month is a 3d project, so all going well I should be back soon with some photo’s of what we did 🙂

Have a great day

Rachel

Yee-haaHowdy Y’All

Once again, I have been somewhat remiss with my blogging, but that doesn’t mean that I have been idle.  Apart from the obvious – work, I have been quite busy in my garden – making the most of this lovely weather we’ve been having 🙂

Having said that, I still managed to sneak in a few cards tho 🙂

This one is an A5 card and the layout is the current Mojo Monday challenge.  The background papers are from the Stampin Up Retro Fresh pack.  The image is a “Young Rebel” by Nellie Snellen, which I’ve coloured in with Promarkers.  The sentiment is a peel off and the Sheriff’s badge has been cut out on my Cricut using the Toy Story cartridge.

Just so you know I’m not lying, the other card I did was based on the Mojo Monday challenge from a few weeks ago.get over it

This is an A4 card, the image has been downloaded from the internet and the background paper and the stripes have been cut out from some old Kanban card I had in my stash.

The word sentiment has been computer generated and the age is a peel off.

Anyhow, gotta go, but will hopefully be back again soon 🙂

SuperSonGood Evening All

Apologies for my absence, I could have sworn I posted my card last week, but obviously not 😐

So below is the card I made last week, and this is the one for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge.  You’ll see a bit of theme running through them as I have been asked to make 5 cards for the same little boy using the new Lego Superheroes images.

I’ve had to trawl the internet for the individual heroes, but I think I’m nearly there!

Anyhow, this weeks card is an A5 card, the blue background has been embossed with a chevron embossing folder from Stampin Up.  The “S” has been cut using my Brother Scan’n’Cut and I’ve just layered this onto a square with one corner cut away to give me the diamond shape – I’m quite chuffed with how that bit turned out.

The banner at the top is a spellbinder die and the sentiment has been done on the computer.  I still feel it needs something else, just can’t quite decide what?  Still, I’ve got a couple of weeks before the little boy’s birthday, so I have some time to think about it.

Well, that’s it for tonight, gotta try and get another one done, if I can, and it’s our crop on Sunday, ironman
so will hopefully be back again soon with our makes, assuming we get anything done of course 🙂

to dream…. 25/04/2014

to dreamGood Morning All,

Well I did manage to do some crafting over the Easter weekend eventually – although it wasn’t the best weekend – the puppy was poorly and the boiler decided to stop working, so not the most relaxing time 😦

Anyhow, this is what I did, it’s an A5 card which has been layered up with some chocolate brown card and design papers from the Wellington pack from DoCrafts.  The image is another one from Lily of the Valley.  I’ve then added some Adage Tickets by Tim Holtz, which I’ve inked over with vintage photo distress ink, the ribbon is from my stash and the little button has been done with a Sizzix cut and emboss folder, which I think I got from Stampin Up?

As usual, I’ve taken the current Mojo Monday challenge layout and followed that.

I also forgot to show you all, what I did for my staff this year for their Easter pressie.

I made carrots 🙂carrots1

The orange part has been done using the Petal Cone die from Stampin Up, which the lovely Sonia lent me for the purpose, and then the green tops have been cut on her Silhouette machine.  I put little white chocolate rabbits inside and a card candy in the centre of the green bit to finish it off (which you can’t see in this photo).  Seemed to go down well with the staff – I didn’t have any left when we finished up for the weekend 😀

Well, I’d best go, got a man coming round to talk about a new boiler in a little while, but I’ll be back again soon

thanks… 10/04/2014

thanksGood Evening All,

Oooooh it’s been a long day 😦

But I thought I’d best get this posted tho, before I run out of time.

The current Mojo Monday challenge made me look to my stash of flowers this week, and the burnt orange colour of these ones, is just gorgeous (unfortunately I don’t think it shows up that well in the photo).

So, I managed to find some co-ordinating card and teamed it with some old Kanban design papers.  The bow has been cut using the Die-namics Beautiful Bows die and the sentiment has been cut using a Spellbinders die.  The “Thanks” stamp is from a Stampin Up set and I have absolutely no idea where the flowers came from, but they’re lovely 🙂

Anyway, I am absolutely shattered so I think I’m going to give in and go to bed!

Back again soon

Rachel

Sorry! 27/02/2014

Sorry!Good Evening All

I know I’ve been quiet for a week or so, but I’ve had a new addition to the family who has been keeping me rather occupied!  Her name is Skye and she is a 9 week old Rottie and is a right little handful!  Unfortunately she doesn’t like being on her own and literally screams the place down 😦  Skye

Thankfully I had warned my neighbour that this might be the case, but I thought it would be nice to do her a card to apologise for any disturbance.  So, using this weeks Mojo Monday layout, I set about making this one.

It’s not quite the “tall and skinny” card I had planned as I managed to cut the paw print a little too big, (haven’t quite got the hang of my new Brother Scan “N” Cut yet!) but it’s close enough 🙂

The papers are some new ones from “Stampin Up” called Retro Fresh, which went quite nicely with the brown of the paw print.

Well, it looks like playtime is over and we might be settling down for the night, so I shall go and get some sleep whilst I can, but I’ll be back again soon

Elegant Lady 09/02/2014

Elegant LadyGood Evening All

I’m definitely not talking about me – I have been struck down with a nasty cold this last week and I can assure you, it was anything but elegant 😦

Seem to be on the mend now though, and today was our regular crop day.  This year I am providing everyone with a sketch to follow each month, to try and help us focus a little, and actually make some cards!  (we’re not always successful at this, between the tea, cakes, biscuits, bacon butties, etc)

So, I’ve been checking out various websites that offer up sketches for cards and this week we used this one from Sketch Saturday.  Its a few weeks old now, so we’ll not be entering the competition, just doing it for fun 😀

As you can see, I twisted the design around as I needed the length for my elegant lady – which, by the way, is a silhouette die cut from DieCutGenie.

I also told everyone that there had to be the colour red somewhere on the card, so I’ve used some Stampin Up design papers and Cherry Cobbler cardstock with a cream A5 card.

I think I might add a few gems to bling it up a bit before I use it for my friends birthday later this month.

Anyhow, it was a jolly good day, so we’ll have to see what wicked sketch I can find for next time 🙂

That’s all for now, but I’ll be back again soon
