Classy KitschGood Afternoon All

I’m quite impressed with myself – incredibly I have managed to make this card and blog about it within 24 hours 🙂  that’s not something that happens often!

I have taken inspiration from two challenges this week – Mojo Monday and ABC – and the fact that I need a girlie birthday card for one of my colleagues.

I have used an A5 card blank, layered up with some pale blue card from my stash and design papers from Craftwork Cards Kitsch collection.  The dress and flower were also in the paper pad but I’ve added some die cut leaves and a rhinestone decal.

The sentiment is a stamp from an old Kanban set which I stamped with versamark and heat embossed using a blue coloured embossing powder from WOW, which matched up lovely.

It all came together just right yesterday evening 🙂

You never know I might even manage to get another one made this evening – although that might be expecting too much – we’ll see!

Best go, I’ve got hungry animals staring at me.

Hopefully back again soon

Rachel

thanksGood Evening All,

Oooooh it’s been a long day 😦

But I thought I’d best get this posted tho, before I run out of time.

The current Mojo Monday challenge made me look to my stash of flowers this week, and the burnt orange colour of these ones, is just gorgeous (unfortunately I don’t think it shows up that well in the photo).

So, I managed to find some co-ordinating card and teamed it with some old Kanban design papers.  The bow has been cut using the Die-namics Beautiful Bows die and the sentiment has been cut using a Spellbinders die.  The “Thanks” stamp is from a Stampin Up set and I have absolutely no idea where the flowers came from, but they’re lovely 🙂

Anyway, I am absolutely shattered so I think I’m going to give in and go to bed!

Back again soon

Favour Boxes 14/09/2012

Good Evening All

Well as promised, here are a couple of photos of the 250 favour boxes that I have made for my friends wedding tomorrow!

I’ve used a pillow box die from Stampin Up, some silver pearlescant card from Kanban and a maroon ribbon which I purchased from Mei Flower (who were extremely helpful, by the way).

The boxes have been filled with Dolly Mixtures, as requested by the bride.

I must thank my Mum, who helped me finish these off this week.  I don’t think either of us will be making any more for a wee while 😉

Well they are all boxed up now and ready to be taken to the hotel tomorrow afternoon and placed on the tables along with some confetti.

It’s going to be a long day, so I think I’m going to head off to bed now, but I’ll be back again soon with a card or two.

christmas crop 22/07/2012

Filed under: Kanban — rachelscraftyfolder @ 10:01 pm

Good Evening All

Forgot to post my piccies from our Christmas Crop at the beginning of July 😮

Kay set the challenge this time and decided that we would make christmas cards using toppers that we already had in our stash.

So I dug out some Kanban toppers from a few years ago, I believe, and teamed them with some backing papers from my christmas box, some gold mirri card, ribbon and peel offs and hey presto a few cards to get me started.

Certainly seemed a bit odd doing christmas in July, but Create and Craft were doing Christmas in June, so really we were late!

Every year I keep telling myself I will be more organised with my christmas card making , so that I’m not rushing about at the last minute, but I have no doubt I will still find myself making cards on Christmas Eve 🙂

Anyway that’s all for now, but I’ll be back again soon

New Home 17/06/2012

Good Afternoon All

Off to work in a little while, so will need to keep this brief!

I made this card yesterday for a friend of mine who has recently moved into a new place with her boyfriend.  I’ve used this weeks sketch from Mojo Monday for the card layout and the papers are all from a kit from Kanban from a few years back I think!  But the little birdies look real cute next to their cage, so thought it would work for a new home card.

I’ve matted each layer onto kraft card as the papers are mainly pinks and browns and it seems that this colour combination works well.  The photo doesn’t seem to have come out great though, obviously something I still need to work on!

Anyway best go get myself organised, will be back again soon 🙂
